Taiko Ritmiko

Taiko Ritmiko is the Japanese drumming group from Blacktown Girls High School. The group performs arrangements of traditional Taiko pieces as well as original compositions.

Taiko is the Japanese word for big drum. The drums used are primarily shimedaiko, Nagada daiko and okedo daiko. Taiko Ritmiko rehearses at lunchtimes and after school and is led by the school music teacher – Sue Kennedy. They perform at school and community events
